About Bushwick Art Crit Group

I formed Bushwick Art Crit Group in March 2013 as a creative development and networking group for Bushwick artists.

HERE is the group description from our Tumblr site:

Bushwick Art Crit Group is a networking and creative development community that seeks to give Bushwick artists a nurturing place to share about their work, and to receive feedback on work for which they'd like to hear outside opinions. In addition, BACG seeks to provide the gallery and curatorial communities direct access to connect with engaging Bushwick artists in an organic setting.

Bushwick Art Crit Group was launched in March 2013 and meets monthly in the art gallery of the Brooklyn Fire Proof East Warehouse. We are an artist run organization founded by Bushwick artist Christopher Stout. (christopherstout.com)

In addition, I am always looking for Bushwick artists who would like to share their work with the group. To participate in a future artist presentation, or with any other Bushwick Art Crit Group questions, please send me an e-mail at christopher.stout@gmail.com. Solidarity!

Fall 2, October Session

October 16th 7pm in the gallery at Brooklyn Fire Proof

October Program: Given the current discourse about the continued dominance of white men in this fall’s NYC museum and gallery programs (NPR, Artspace, ArtFCity, etc.), we at Bushwick Art Crit Group thought it was appropriate and necessary to devote our October session exclusively to women in the arts. We wanted to illuminate through 6 engaging artist presentations what is being lost by this continued and negligent oversight.

Access for all.

Artist Presenters: Willow Goldstein, Jessica Hargreaves, Samantha Katz, Lisa Levy, Chamberlin Newsome, and Lydia Pfeffer
